XXII International Art Festival МАЛЮЙ.UA (PAINT.UA)

About us

The XXII International Art Festival МАЛЮЙ.UA (PAINT.UA) is organized by the Association for the Development of International Relations ADRUM, the promotion and production company STUDIORAR under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Kyiv City Government  for the development of art, the creation and strengthening of ties between generations of different countries, cultural diplomacy between Ukraine and other nations. The project  is a part of the large-scale International Art Festival МАЛЮЙ.UA.WAR (PAINT.UA.WAR), which began in the first week of the full-scale invasion and is planned to be held until the end of the war. Currently, during the insidious war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, international cohesion and interaction in all spheres, including cultural ones, is especially important.

 

THE WORKS OF THE WINNERS WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE CHRISTMAS EXHIBITION 

WHERE, WHEN AND HOW THE WORKS ARE EXHIBITED

 

Where: Khreshchaty Park in the center of Kyiv near European Square

 

When: November 21, 2026 – February 21, 2027

 

How:

At the exhibition, the works are exhibited in a printed version on plastic 

3 mm A3 format. For this, the Winner needs to provide a photo of the work at least 2500 pixels on long side.

PLACE OF THE WINNERS’ EXHIBITION

 

            The Winners' Exhibition is located in the center of Kyiv, in Khreshchaty Park, which is located on the Dnieper Slope near European Square, where the main street of the capital of Ukraine - Khreshchatyk - begins. Khreshchaty Park, created in the middle of the 18th century, is one of the most favorite places for walks for Kyiv residents and guests of the capital. The exhibition is located near the Kyiv Academic Puppet Theater, which at the beginning of the last century was known as the "Castle on the Hill", and the Water Museum, located in the buildings of the first Kyiv centralized water supply system, built in 1872 and 1876. The exhibition begins closer to the stairs, which you can go down to the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People, continues along the entire Main Alley of the Park, and ends closer to the iconic Bridge of Lovers. 

 

Conditions of participation

An artist of any age from any country, except the Russian Federation and supporting countries, can participate in the festival.

 

Work requirements

Participants can present drawings, paintings, collages, digital art, carvings,  stained glass windows and other works of fine art. There are no restrictions or preferences in the subject or materials, the only requirement is that they be original works and not copies of famous images (a photo portrait is allowed).

 

How works are evaluated

Works are evaluated according to two criteria:

  • performance technique according to age;
  • an idea.

Age categories:

Each participant competes only with his age (five-year-old against five-year-old, ten-year-old against ten-year-old, thirty-year-old against thirty-year-old, etc.)

 

First round

HOW TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION BY EMAIL

First way: With the Application Form

To e-mail: [email protected] you have to send:

  1. Photos of works - you can submit from one till five works
  2. Your portrait photo
  3. Completed application form

Importantly!

  • Photos should not be inserted into the application form, but should be attached as an attachment to the letter.
  • Photos must be in jpg format.
  • The application form must be in Word or PDF format.
  • Each work must be photographed separately as closely and evenly as possible, without glass, without a frame, without extra objects and without the author - only the work. Please take photos in natural light to avoid glare. Name each photo of the works according to the names in the application. The photo of each work must be at least 2500 pixels long.

Second Way: Without Application Form

To e-mail: [email protected] send:

  1. Photos of works - you can submit from one till five works;
  2. Your portrait photo;
  3. Details of the participant and works in the body of the letter:
    • name, surname, age, city/village, phone with messengers, Instagram account;
    • name and year of creation of each work;
    • please indicate where you found out about the festival.

Importantly!

  • Photos should not be inserted into the application form, but should be attached to the letter.
  • Photos must be in jpg format.
  • The application form must be in Word or PDF format.
  • Each work must be photographed separately as closely and evenly as possible, without glass, without a frame, without extra objects and without the author - only the work. Please make photos in natural light to avoid glare. Name each photo of the works according to the names in the application. The photo of each work must be at least 2500 pixels long.

 

HOW TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION ON INSTAGRAM OR FACEBOOK MASSENGER

You need to send to the direct message of the @adrum.ukraine festival account in Instagram or @adrumukraine festival account in Facebook your age (artworks are evaluated according to age) and photos of works.

Importantly!

  1. You can send from one to five works.
  2. Each work must be photographed separately as closely and evenly as possible, without glass, without a frame, without extra objects and without the author - only the work. Please make photos in natural light to avoid glare.
  3. If you pass to the second round, you will need to send to the email [email protected]:
  • a photo of the work chosen by the organizers, at least 2500 pixels long and not less 1 Mb;
  • your portrait photo;
  • data:
  • name, surname, age, city/village, phone with messengers, Instagram account;
  • title and year of creation of the work.

 

* Due to possible bombings, shelling, blackouts and other circumstances in the state of war, the answer to your application may not come immediately, because organizers are in Kyiv. But the organizers will definitely accept the application of each participant and give you an answer that the application has been accepted, by email or Instagram, or Facebook according to where you applied.

 

Second round

Your application is reviewed by the organizing committee (usually from several hours to three days). After the decision, you will receive a reply from where you sent the application (to email or Instagram or Facebook) with a notification whether you passed the casting or not. If you go to the second round, the selected work for the Winners' exhibition will be attached to the letter. After receiving a letter confirming the passing of the casting, a fee of 1500 UAH or the equivalent of the second currency (it’s approximately 30 $ or 30 €) must be paid. Participants' fee go to the organization of the festival. The author of the work, who passed the casting and made a fee, becomes the Winner of the festival.

 

Each Winner receives:

  • Diploma of the Winner of the XXII International Art Festival PAINT.UA.
  • Artwork, artwork’s data and a portrait of each Winner are posted on the festival's resources.
  • The Instagram account of the Winner is placed in Instagram in a post dedicated to the artwork of the Winner and in the Stories with artwork.
  • The winner's work will be exhibited in the Khreshchaty Park at the Christmas exhibition.
  • A QR code will be placed next to the Winner's work at the exhibition in the Khreshchaty Park with a link to the Winner's account - Instagram, or Facebook, or a website or other resource at the Winner's request.
  • Photos and videos of work from the exhibition will be sent to e-mail.
  • Photos and videos of work from the exhibition will be posted on the festival's resources.
  • Links to mass media covering the exhibition will be sent to e-mail posted on the festival's resources.
  • The possibility to get into the EXHIBITION POOL - that is, to the collection of works from which works will be chosen for further international exhibitions.
